Boosting Your Students Learning With Weekly Tutoring Groups
Boosting Your Student's Learning With Weekly Tutoring GroupsWeekly tutoring groups can be used for quite a few different purposes. Some use them to help students learn language, some to help students learn math, some are there to help students make up test scores, and other groups use them to just help motivate the group so that they learn. However, if your group of students has a weak connection or is having a hard time, you can use weekly tutoring groups to help boost their motivation.Motivational purposes are a big part of any tutoring group. While some tutoring groups have strong connections with one another and do well because of their knowledge of the subject, many tutoring groups have weak connections and do not do well. By having weekly tutoring groups, you can create strong connections and create a base for the group to learn from. That's a huge advantage over one on one tutoring groups.Having weekly tutoring groups is also an effective way to get some 'housework' done. When you have a strong connection, you may want to assign some homework for the weekly tutoring group. This way, the group can keep learning during the week and it is in their best interest to get the work done and move on to something else that is more productive. If the group does not have the motivation to get the work done, they will not learn and the weekly tutoring groups will not be successful.Weekly tutoring groups are also a great way to provide encouragement to the students. If the students feel as though they are not part of the weekly tutoring group, they are likely to stop showing up. They may do this for a few weeks, but by the time they get back into the group, the lack of motivation is likely to re-emerge.By using weekly tutoring groups, you can also provide the motivation and encouragement to the group of students to do the work on their own. If you are teaching Spanish to high school age students, for example, you might want to ask them to take out the notebook, bring it to the weekly tutoring group, and review the lesson materials. Also, if you teach third graders, you might want to ask them to do the work on their own and then we will evaluate what they learn and how they learned it. Then, we can work on the grade for that particular lesson. If your classes do not get the attention they need, they will become bored and new ways to communicate and learn will not come. By having weekly tutoring groups, you are likely to increase the number of students who are willing to work on assignments, do extra class work, and take extra tests. They will be less likely to give up or quit on you, which is a definite plus.Weekly tutoring groups are a powerful way to improve all aspects of a classroom. Whether you have strong connections with one another or not, weekly tutoring groups are a fantastic way to improve the performance of your students.
